How Can a Carrier Build Their Driver Fleet in 2018?

Since the ELD mandate went into effect, experts predict the miles per truck for the companies just adopting ELDs will decrease by 5% to 7%. To move freight will require more trucks and drivers. Carriers are already struggling to grow their driver fleets. Capacity development will be more difficult this year.

To overcome this industry problem, driver recruiting departments need to get better driver recruiting results. Steve Prelipp, Prelipp Consulting, will share some tactics.

     North Carolina Trucking Association
    Call on Washington
    September 11- 13, 2018

NCTA's Call on Washington program is our opportunity to meet directly with Members of Congress, key congressional staff, federal regulators, fellow industry leaders and ATA staff to discuss legislation and regulations affecting the trucking industry.

    Why should I go?

No one knows our industry like we do! Members of Congress need to hear first-hand from business owners and executives about our concerns.

    Why does it cost?

Participants pay their own travel and hotel costs and meals.

What is involved in the Congressional visits?

We arrange all the appointments, provide briefing materials and hold a briefing session at American Trucking Association before we meet with Members of Congress and staff. We make it easy to get to and from Capitol Hill and other venues and we try to make the most efficient use of your time.

"The Real Costs and ROI of Sleep Apnea"

Guest Speaker Michael Trufant, Aeroflow Healthcare, Inc.

Sleep Apnea is not just a check box on the DOT Exam. Undiagnosed sleep apnea is a spider web of real exposure and critical consequences for drivers and your company. It's prime on plaintiff attorney's radar and insurers are asking questions like we have not seen before. Treating sleep apnea is both a risk management strategy and a prudent investment in your driver's health and your fleet's profitability. We'll lay what is going on and what new solutions you can integrate into your fleet safety/orientation program. Please join us for this very engaging session.
