Trucking Industry Economic Forecast - Bob Costello, Chief Economist & Vice President, American Trucking Associations.  Bob Costello will present an economic update discussing how current economic factors are affecting both the short-term and long-term outlook for the trucking industry.

Shipper Panel Discussion - Britt Colley, President at Epes Transport Systems, leads a panel of shipper representatives to discuss strategies and solutions to today’s industry challenges. Among those challenges are conforming to regulations imposed on the trucking industry and finding ways to enhance the partnerships moving forward.

We will hear from shipper leaders:

  • Ginger Hayes, Sales Logistics – Transportation, Altria Group /Philip Morris
  • Kevin Perry, Director of Transportation, Lowe's
  • Paul Newbourne, Sr. Vice President of Logistics Operations, Armada Supply Chain Solutions
Under Cover in the CIA - James OlsonIn his presentation, Olson takes you inside the real world of being a CIA spy for 31 years, including how he was recruited, the training he received, the risks he faced, and the affects of this undercover life on his family.  Mr. Olson will also discuss the role of the CIA in the current Global War on Terrorism and other current issues affecting the safety and security of American citizens.  Olson is author of the book, Fair Play:  The Moral Dilemmas of Spying

The trucking industry’s top issues – hours-of-service, CSA, fuel costs, the economy, environmental issues, congestion, the driver shortage and more – all combine to create a complex and challenging operating environment for today’s motor carriers and drivers.  Ms. Brewster will provide an overview of the top industry issues and where ATRI’s research can make the road a little easier to travel.
