The North Carolina Trucking Association is proud to partner with Truckers Against Trafficking to combat the epidemic of human trafficking in the United States. Currently, North Carolina is ranked 10th in the country for the most cases of human trafficking reported and as an industry - we can change that. Trucking companies and drivers can be the eyes and ears of law enforcement and help to protect those in need of aid to escape from this modern form of slavery.
On March 9, 2017, Truckers Against Trafficking, in partnership with NCTA and multiple organizations across North Carolina, hosted a "Briefing on Combatting Commercial Exploitation" where roughly ninety members of the trucking industry, industry partners, law enforcement and government agencies came to train on recognizing the signs of human trafficking and ways to combat the growing crisis in our country. By raising awareness and extending training, we can save lives together and learn how to communicate better.
In 2016, 181 human trafficking cases were reported in 2016 in North Carolina.
Know the signs.
If you see it, report it - save a life.
